CV Sciences recognizes that biofuels have been a hot topic in the media for nearly a decade. Most American adults who drive automobiles recall the appearance of notifications at the fuel pump letting us know that our gas is blended with ethanol. The United States Department of Energy notes that “97% of U.S. gasoline contains ethanol.” Why do we do this? Ethanol oxygenates the gasoline which allows it to burn cleaner and cause less environmental damage. This sounds great, but requires us to take a closer look at the related impacts and alternatives.
Ethanol, also known as bioethanol, is derived primarily from corn, sugarcane, and sweet sorghum. These crops represent a massive portion of U.S. agricultural production. Furthermore, subsidies encourage farmers to grow these crops exclusively despite the associated risks of monocropping. One alternative to these traditional sources of biofuel is hemp.
CV Sciences, the makers of Plus CBD Oil believes that the nutritional value of hemp is just one of many possibilities. In a recent interview, CV Sciences Business Developer Josh Hendrix posed this thought: “What if you could grow hemp on an abandoned strip mine, then use it to create energy? How ironic would that be?”
Here are some biofuel facts highlighted by the National Hemp Association:
CV Sciences looks forward to continued development in this very promising field of hemp research. Domestically sourced biofuel from hemp represents a tremendous opportunity to bring sustainable practices to the energy industry, as well as tremendous economic opportunity for the burgeoning American hemp industry.
Plus CBD Oil is sourced from agricultural hemp grown by a co-op under the strictest EU guidelines. To learn more about CV Sciences “Seed to Shelf” commitment, please visit www.pluscbdoil.com.
