CBD Drops FAQs

Below are some common questions we hear frequently asked, regarding CBD Drops.

Great. Wonderful. Stupendous. And a bucketful of other synonyms. There’s a reason that CBD-rich hemp extracts exploded into the dietary supplement scene like nothing else in a generation. People found that it worked. It worked to help them with their occasional anxiety, with their aches and pains from activities like exercise and to find a more balanced food intake as well as a better night’s sleep . With the extent of the endocannabinoid system – found in every organ of your body and all of the highest areas of your brain – it makes sense that CBD drops can help soothe people in so many ways. How will CBD Drops make you feel? Better.
Our full spectrum extract of CBD oil drops themselves will not get you high. They are psychoactive, in the sense that they can lower anxiety – but they are not psychotropic, as in causing the feelings of being high that you associate with medical or recreational cannabis. That being said, our full-spectrum CBD extracts do contain the minor amounts of THC allowable by law. If someone who is quite sensitive takes a very large amount of hemp extract, they may notice the beginnings of a psychoactive effect. If so, lower the serving size being consumed. The Reserve Collection Oils have higher levels of THC and increased levels of relaxation.
It is rare – but yes. Our PlusCBD products are made from full-spectrum CBD. These extracts contain small amounts of the minor cannabinoids like THC. Usually these small amounts of THC are not enough to trigger a positive drug test, but it does happen. If you are concerned about not failing a drug test, do not take any hemp products such as hemp CBD drops, hemp seed, hemp oil, or hemp protein powder. For those with drug testing concerns, we recommend our Happy Lane line of CBD products which contain 0.00% THC.
We always recommend following the expiration dates on the bottles. But the cannabinoids are lipids and tend to be quite stable. A large cannabis stash found in a tomb from ~4700 years ago was measured to still have effective levels of cannabinoids. CV Sciences also keeps samples from every batch of our products and when we go back to test the very first products we produced, they are still good. So always obey the expiration date – but know that CBD drops are a stable product.
The length of time CBD drops & the other ingredients will stay in your system is quite variable – but a good rule of thumb is two to five days. When you begin consuming CBD drops, it can take a few days to build up in your system and to balance your endocannabinoid system. Being a fatty lipid, when you stop taking it, it can take a few days to clear your system. And for some people, it could still be detectable weeks later.
While none of our products are meant to be vaped (seriously – do not try it. Wrong material), the vaping of CBD is a rapid way to get CBD into your system for immediate relief. CBD oil drops are vaped using a vape pen or a desktop vaping system.
As many as it takes. The thing about CBD oil is that because everyone’s endocannabinoid system is different, everyone flourishes on different amounts of CBD oil. We always recommend that you start low and glo slow. Begin by taking the minimum serving size for a week to let the CBD balance out your endocannabinoid system. After that, keep increasing the amount every few days until you find the sweet spot for your health.
When taking CBD drops, you take them orally via the mouth. To increase absorption of your CBD oil, you can swish it around in your mouth before swallowing. Taking CBD oil drops orally is a good method because it usually starts to get into your system within twenty minutes and reaches full potency within an hour.

To take CBD oil drops, put the recommended amount of drops under your tongue and hold them there for around 60 seconds before swallowing. This gives the CBD time to be absorbed into your system. You can also mix your CBD oil drops with a beverage or food if you prefer. Experiment to see what works best for you and make sure to start with a low dose to see how your body reacts.
What don’t they do? The reason that you hear so much about CBD is because of all the ways that it helps health. For starters, your endocannabinoid system is one of the most widespread control systems in your body. It interacts with your neural system, your immune system, and your hormone system. Your endocannabinoid system acts as a system of balance for your body and mind – and CBD drops activate your endocannabinoid system. But CBD drops also work with important neurotransmitters like your serotonin and dopamine to help with anxiety and stress, even if our product isn't explicitly CBD drops for anxiety.. It binds to some of your opioid receptors to help with occasional aches and pains. And recently, it’s been shown to interact with the orexin hormone that helps to regulate your sleep. As the famed research Dr. Vincenzo Di Marzo put it, “CBD is a Swiss Army knife for the body and brain.”
The number of milligrams (mg) in a drop of CBD oil can vary depending on factors such as the concentration of the CBD oil, the size of the dropper, and the viscosity of the oil.
The time for CBD oil drops to get in your system depends on how much is in your stomach and on your own metabolism – but in general, the effects start within about 20 minutes and reach their peak effect within an hour. It generally takes about 30-60 minutes for CBD oil to take effect. However, this can vary depending on a number of factors, such as the method of consumption, the concentration of CBD, and your individual metabolism. Many people find that they need to experiment a bit to find the right dose and delivery method for their needs.
Yes. CBD drops that are made from hemp extracts are legal under federal law in the United States as long as they contain less than 0.3% THC by dry weight. This was made clear with the passing of the 2018 Farm Bill, which defined hemp as cannabis with less than 0.3% THC by dry weight and removed it from the list of controlled substances. This means that any products made from hemp, including CBD drops, are legal under federal law, as long as they meet the THC limit and other regulatory requirements.
