Episode Notes:

Some people know ketamine as a street drug. Anesthesiologists know it as one of the safest ways to knock out children and old people for surgery. But in the psychiatric community, it’s one of the most exciting new options for the treatment of depression, PTSD, anxiety, and as a catalyst for healing trauma.

Marcela Ot’alora is a psychedelic therapist who uses ketamine in her practice. She tells Lex how ketamine works in therapy, how it’s different from other psychedelics, and how to prepare yourself for an experience. She’ll also shares about her progress in MDMA research with MAPS (the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies).
