Purchasing Quality CBD

With a myriad of different types of CBD products available, from oils to creams to gummies, the choices are varied enough without adding another layer of authenticity to sort through in your search for the best CBD oil product.

The draw to cannabidiol (CBD) oil is its medicinal qualities, and the fact that you can reap those benefits without the paranoid high that comes from marijuana. However, companies are fraudulently selling unverified “CBD oil” that often contains less, and sometimes more, CBD than stated. In extreme cases, there is no cannabidiol present in them at all.

Even worse, low quality CBD products can contain more THC than bargained for, which can produce a high and negatively affect drug tests. Worse still, some products can contain harmful toxic substances that can do serious harm. So how do you sort through all the rubbish to find the best CBD products?

Finding Fake CBD

It’s important to do what you can to identify fake CBD when purchasing your products online. The side effects can be harmful, and you don’t want anything taking you by surprise. Indications that you’ve been scammed include symptoms like altered state of mind, disorientation, seizures, hallucinations, and loss of consciousness.

Check the price: If nothing else, you really just want to get what you pay for. And that leads to the first sign that a CBD product is fake: its price is too low. The allure of a fake CBD oil is its minimal price tag. Don’t let them reel you in with its cheap cost, or you will indeed get exactly what you paid for.

Check what’s promised: Is the CBD product you’re looking at a bit over-the-top with its health benefit claims? There’s a difference between listing the helpful benefits we all want from CBD oil and a used car salesman type con job. Trust your instincts. Is it a little too cheesy? If it stinks of cheese, it just might be cheese. Oh, and if it’s free? It is most definitely fake. Nothing in the CBD world is cheap or free.

Check the promises again: If a CBD product on the market got your attention because of its claims of being undetectable on a drug test, it’s a scam. First of all, drug tests don’t screen for CBD because it’s neither intoxicating nor illegal. However, if CBD contains a touch of THC (and certain kinds of CBD often do), then you’re going to fail the drug test. (THC is the main active ingredient of medical or recreational marijuana.)

Is it hemp seed oil? If the product says it’s derived from hemp seed, but also says it’s CBD, it’s fake. CBD oil is not derived from hemp seeds; rather, it comes from the actual hemp plant. Sellers are hoping to confuse you with that one, so be prepared.

Finding Quality CBD

Imagine the challenges faced by a company that produces genuine, high quality CBD products. How do they separate themselves from the riff-raff and synthetic garbage that is so rampant right now? And how do you, as a consumer, discern the good from the bad?

Do your homework: When shopping for CBD on Amazon or wherever you see it, make sure that the company has presented proof of its quality. Remember, there are reputable producers who have a passion for what they do and a desire to get quality CBD to those who want a quality experience. Look for those guys: they’re the ones who post the results of their third-party lab tests, a.k.a. Certificate of Analysis or COA, that check for everything from synthetic substances to pesticides and heavy metals. They’ll also test for THC, so you can have a head’s up on that content, too.

Still don’t know what to do? When in doubt, keep doing research. Do your homework. Keep trying to understand ‒ because what you don’t want to do is miss out on the amazing benefits that real, quality CBD oil has to offer.
